Alien

Dudes... I'm simply falling in love with Corel Painter.

I brought out a stupid sketch I did in class last year, and traced it (made some minor changes though) with Liquid Inks. Then I used Artist's Oils and Watercolours for the background and the alien's color.

Seminario Ilustracion

Wah... Just handed in the work from this class, seminario de ilustracion. We had to do all these portraits with various styles, all 10x7cm in size, and with various styles or techniques. So, we had to choose 4 musicians, two of each sex and one young and one old each. I picked Willie Nelson, Jack White, Dolly Parton and Brody Dalle. The styles we had to try and practise were these:
Lines Only
Shadows
Van Gogh
Childish / Left hand
German expressionism
Dubuffet
Textures
Falso grabado / like prints, but with guache and ink
Bodypaint and tattoo
Caricature (very simple shapes)
and the last 4 (8 in my case) with whatever technique each one preferred. Mine being stencils, one with dots, one with crosshatching, one with watercolours and one with pastels.

so, that`s it! Almost time for vacations... can't wait!

Budapest

Just finished a workshop in school about making an illustration for a competition held by Vueling (the airline). They had 5 cities to be illustrated for their in-flight magazine, and I was appointed with Budapest. The prize is pretty juicy... A flight for two to any destination of Vueling... So, I hope I'll win!

Connection

Had to make a drawing of what the world of today is to me (for semiotics class). I decided I wanted to portray the connection between places far away from each other, caused by technology.
It hit me the other day when I was talking to my grandma in Iceland through Skype, and had recently designed a poster for my mom who is also in Iceland, that now a days when you move to a different country, you don't really go away. It's like having one foot in one country and the other foot in another one. If I would've moved to Spain 20 years ago I wouldn't have been able to read the icelandic newspaper, keep up with every single person I know there, see photos from every single party, talk to them and see them while I do so, or at least if I'd wanted to read the icelandic newspaper I'd had to wait a few days for it to arrive in the mail. But bottom line; the world is growing smaller and smaller, it doesn't matter how far away you are, you're never really that far away.

La asombrosa historia de Mr. Snow

An illustration made for the poster of my friend Antonio's next show, "The amazing story of Mr.Snow". This was made in photoshop from scratch. The I drew the letters by hand, and the snow, and the old man (Mr.Snow). As for Antonio's face I had a webcam photo as a reference, and the city in the background is from stock.

Lil' Eddie

A little bit further along in the process

A sculpture in progress of Eddie, Iron Maiden's monster, from the Killers album. Made with Super Sculpey. There is still a lot of work to do!
